National Accreditation Update

The CSFE has not been a member of NCATE since 2004. Resources required for formal NCATE affiliation exceeded the capacity of this volunteer-run society’s member organizations. However, the Council continues to work with NCATE through a network of social foundations scholars who have been involved in national accreditation activities at their own institutions, and as members on NCATE’s Unit Accreditation Board (UAB) and Board of Examiners (BOE). The Council has also explored ways to support institutions seeking accreditation and reaccreditation. For example, the CSFE could establish a network of volunteers able to provide advice and support to social foundations scholars concerned about the accreditation process in their home institutions.
